Hi, I'm Paul Rütter. I'm Director of Technology at BlueConic. My work sits where engineering meets leadership: designing systems that stay simple as they grow, building teams that move fast without breaking things, and shipping software that actually matters to the people using it.

Outside the day job, I'm a PMC member of Apache Felix, focused on the HTTP and Maven Bundle Plugin subprojects. I maintain a couple of open-source libraries that came out of real production needs — node-oom-heapdump for hunting down Node.js memory leaks, and browscap-java for fast user-agent detection — and I contribute to other projects across the ecosystem, including Eclipse Jersey and DuckDB, among others. AI is now central to my work: more than a year of hands-on AI-assisted coding with tools like Claude and GitHub Copilot, which I've integrated into everyday development workflows — plus building and running production-grade AI agent infrastructure, including the evaluation suites that keep it reliable. The "10x" here isn't about heroics. It's about leverage: the right tool, a clean abstraction, or a bit of automation that makes everything after it easier. This site is a small example — a fast, static personal home built on a deliberately lean stack.
